“As part of the deal, which the company says is the first of its kind, McDonald’s will use the Weight Watchers logo on its menu boards and Weight Watchers will promote McDonald’s to dieters.”
so someone before me(not directly before) posted all of this bullshit about weight watchers not being a diet. i usually don’t respond or reblog a lot of back and forth conversations about fat issues here on tumblr because it gets so fucking personal. and how can it not? if yr anybody in the western world, you have probably been self conscious about yr weight or any other type of of physical quality about yrself, AT SOME POINT. for some people, it lasts a year and for some others it lasts a lifetime, for a lot of people, it is somewhere in between there. but without going into my personal issues (or non-issues) with weight, i want to make something clear.
WEIGHT WATCHERS IS A FUCKING DIET. if it wasn’t a diet, they wouldn’t have to notify you that is wasn’t a diet. if it looks and feels like a fucking diet it is probably a fucking diet. oh? you have to look at the calories, fiber and fat of the item, convert that into a point and log it into a daily log book where you subtract your mini items from a total amount of alloted points into yr daily log. oh yeah, that sounds like a diet. oh? you can only eat protein and vegetables and potatoes once a day but an unlimited amount of ketchup? yeah. that sounds like a diet. anything that you learn outside of those two components of weight watchers, are things you should know if you are an adult who can afford paying money every week to get publicly weighed in front of other people. oh? there is “sticking to the rules” accountability? while it might not be direct, in those meetings, there is public fat shaming going on. this is a diet. and while you might be that small percentage of people that went on a DIET, lost weight and kept it off, it doesn’t mean you didn’t participate in a fucking diet. you were on a diet and mcdonald’s isn’t health food. kudos to weight watchers and mcdonald’s getting together though. i don’t know if it was so much that “fat people love mcdonalds” but i think people in general like that shit and they are both going to make money off of it. it was never about your health or the health of anybody. it is about money. if it was about health, weight watchers would distribute their information for free or to just cover production costs and everyone who walked away would be healthier.
This is the final say. A+!
